Complex Finance Manager

Primarily responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, while developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
Responsible for (but not limited to):
general ledger, financial reporting, product costing, and results analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Responsible for preparation and analysis of reporting related to operational costs of various products and processes.
Reporting responsibilities include all facets of operations with emphasis on financial and production related analysis.
Monitor and evaluate performance and accuracy of accounting staff.
Train, mentor and develop direct reports.
Monitor and report complex performance and variances to stated standards.
Monitor and report specific complex cost drivers - yields, overtime, downtime, etc.
Prepare analysis of weekly manufacturing/conversion costs per business segment including weekly profit and loss.
Oversee monthly closing process and issuance of performance and financial reports.
Prepare month-end reconciliations of all accounts, processing of employee sales and payroll.
Actively participate in site initiatives and provide analysis as requested.
Review and approve payment invoices.
Assist in review of plant operations and performance.
Review general ledger identifying fluctuations and causes.
Prepare and enter journal entries; reconcile and balance accounts.
Prepare and distribute financial statements including balance sheet, trial balance, and income statement.
Prepare insurance and manpower reports, and sales and use tax returns.
Conduct all duties in accordance with internally and externally acceptable practices.
Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
5-10 professional accounting and clerical support employees.
This is a Leader of Leaders position with required competencies:

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited institution.
5 years' relevant manufacturing accounting experience.
1 year supervisory experience.
Expert level of proficiency with excel spreadsheets and ERP/MRP systems.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND
Experience:
6
years' experience within a similar manufacturing environment.
3
years' supervisory and/or leadership experience.
Possess MBA, CPA, or CMA certification.
Previous experience working with Agristats data.
Previous experience in product cost models.
Previous experience utilizing Adage and/or M-Tech software.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Possess advanced math skills.
Thorough understanding of variances with ability to work with complex management staff to drive improvements.
Expert proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Excellent spelling, proofreading, and grammatical skills.
High work capacity, dependable, results oriented and strong sense of urgency.
Possess appropriate interpersonal communication styles and methods to inspire and guide individuals toward goal achievement, modify behavior to accommodate tasks, situations, and individuals.
Effectively manage conflict.
Honest, ethical and able to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Demonstrated and highly effective written/verbal and interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with internal and external customers.
Ability to transition quickly between existing and new responsibilities with minimal direction.
Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple priorities.
Excellent organizational skills, with precise attention to detail.
Demonstrated sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.

Understand and interpret data while drawing logical conclusions based on available inputs.

Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize work accordingly.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequently walks throughout the plant/complex and defined work area within the facility.
Frequently stoops and bends.
Occasionally lifts up to 40 lbs.
